Why do I drive myself crazy?
My parents are incompetent and I’m 23 living with my dad who tries to do well now but I feel like i’m becoming a loser like him. His mom died when he was young yelling at him over some trivial matter which must have really messed him up so hes doing ok for a pitiful person. I don’t want to be that loser but Ironically that’s how it always ends up and I cant find any real purpose in life. I’ve had my own childhood trauma and battle with drugs and alcohol that I used as an escape from reality. As a result of alot of bad circumstances I was left behind in life. When I think of a goal like getting a gf I start to think this isn’t even worth it. I thought about becoming a "player" but that’s not me or who i want to be. I fantasized about a single great girl which is admirable and hopeless because the pretty girls that have approached me were clearly promiscuous. More importantly I need to get over my own issues which is only do-able with a really strong will that I lack. I want a good looking girl, whose hasn’t touched other guys, who doesn’t need to get married or want to have a doomed child together so it can relieve my crappy existence. That perhaps thinks like I do and has intelligence I can relate too so its a truly equal relationship, while she gives into my two huge demands that no woman wants to give up. Good luck with that huh? Even if I were to get all that, there are still things id have to do that I wouldn’t like, we’d grow old probably get divorced and die. I didn’t finish my liberal arts degree because I didn’t know then and I still don’t know now how to survive. Work sucks, its made to be as stressful as possible to keep people enslaved. Getting a job and gf is not only difficult but I lose my individual freedom, a slave to keeping a phone on me all the time, trade off doing things I don’t like so I wont freak about being alone while I become paranoid about her cheating or putting herself in possibly grey area type situations. All the while i’m battling time aging becoming weaker, mentally slower, more drained. What is the purpose of life? Why bother to go on? It seems like a crap shoot. I almost lack a personality too because i see both choices and like neither and do nothing. Sometimes i’ll get anxious/hypochondriac/obsessive compulsive and I just want it to be over, but a part of me keeps me alive. I’ve almost died a dozen or so times from accidents, to drug overdoses(which I prayed not do die for two of those), nearly getting shot twice. I don’t think i’m crazy now its just that life probably does suck, and humans have a fail safe mechanism that doesn’t allow them to kill themselves. Honestly i’m very unlucky and still I try a little like to not to fall into the traps of materialism and look on the bright side but it’s just self delusion…it doesn’t last. Comparing to people who have it worse is like comparing cancer to aids. They both suck. Everyone says so many things that it just complicates things even more. Can anyone think about life and actually stay sane and calm? My life sux and i know that i wont follow through and become a happy person in part because true happiness probably doesnt exist. My friend seemed to have it all and he still thirsts for satisfaction its just human nature. The funny part is that i’ve gotten over the self loathing, quit drugs, resumed working out and im still farther away from anything than I was 2 years ago. Hope feels nice but it doesnt last more than a day, and is rare, thoughts of suicide are rational easy way out that probably just ends your life while affecting the survivors which actually gives my life meaning through death "don’t have kids they end up killing themselves" lol. But then you got these laws that make suicide difficult and religion telling you God will punish you and you are back to square one. Constant circular logic of never knowing anything and running out of time, but painfully slowly… The biggest joke of all is that I wrote this 3 times differently and come to the same conclusion, this was just the most succinct copy. How pathetic is that? Turning into like an emo kid, something I really despise…
Because walking yourself crazy takes way too long….

It may not be what you are looking for but when I was in my mid/late teens I read What’s Eating Gilbert Grape by Peter Hedges and I enjoy it even now. If you’ve seen the movie trust me the book is much better. Just a suggestion, Happy Reading!

Its meter is inconsistent- varying between trochaic tetrameter and iambic tetrameter. But he throws in sponees too.
I adore Poe but regular meter was not his intent.
This is a wonderful poem, but if you are doing a critical analysis I would focus on imagery and theme and how they relate to form.

scared of bigger breeds and then own one?
I posted earlier today re: puppy buyers remorse - my husband and I bought a puppy yesterday and made the mistake of buying a 3 month old shepherd/lab/pitbull mix EVEN though I am truly terrified of bigger dogs (bad incident with a pit bull that happed a few years back -the pit bull was an old roomate of my husbands dog, I was left alone with that dog one day while visiting, I tried to take her outside where she literally dragged me around the entire yard even though I was pulling with all my might - I had NO IDEA how strong that dog was, then it started growling and ripped her leash in two when we were finally getting in the door, where I proceeded to lock myself in the bathroom as she bounced off the living room walls and snarled/barked,and I waited there crying until someone came home!) basically the dog was alone all the time and had a lot of pent up frustration but it was scary. Anyways, now not only do I look at this puppy who is already at the max size I’m comfortable with, with a large knot in my stomach knowing how big/strong this dog will get (I’m only 5′3 110lbs), I think about the fact that and I don’t want to come home to a frustrated large dog every day (has to be crated during the day 8-5 and at night since not potty trained), and my poor cat has already fallen into depression (like me I guess)…. I told my husband the best thing to do is take the puppy back when she’s still small, instead of waiting until she’s bigger and I feel uncomfortable, however he is bonded now and has the notion to just give it some time… But how will he feel if I don’t overcome the big dog fear and he gets REALLY bonded? I don’t want to be scared of the dog a year from now, decide I can’t do it anymore, and have my husband hate forever for getting rid of his best friend… Any advice? Is it best to just return puppy now or wait and see if I can overcome my big dog fear?
I have had a number of bad experiences with pit bulls. as have numerous friends. Carlos Slim doesn’t have enough money to get me to ever get or even foster any dog that is part pit bull. You made a bad mistake, take the puppy back tomorrow and get something smaller. You husband should have known better too.

Big dogs are not that bad. Most little ones are more fierce and nippy. Dogs can sense your fear-any animal will let you walk over them if you let them. I say give it time, try taking an obedience class with the dog and learn how to properly handle the dog.
If you cant overcome your fear with this big dog then try another one. Start off with a bigger dog that has a good reputation, like a Golden Retriever, greyhound, or boxer?

Family wants Ozark County woman charged for helping illegal immigrant/murder suspect

GAINESVILLE, Mo. — A year-and-a-half-old murder case in Ozark County took a turn on the courthouse lawn on Thursday.
"We just want justice," many signs read.
Family and friends of Alonzo Foster Jr. were out in force, picketing.
"Our lives are shattered," said Alonzo Foster Sr.
In July 2008, the 22-year-old man whom they called Zo was fatally shot at a picnic on Lick Creek. An illegal immigrant from Mexico, Jesus Sesena-Murrieta, was charged with second-degree murder.
"The woman that was harboring him, she’s been held responsible for nothing," said the victim’s sister, Jacky Holt-Foster. "We have no peace, no closure."
That woman’s role in harboring Sesena-Murrieta was the focus of the picket.
"If she had not allowed him to stay with her, keeping him on her property, he would not have been there to shoot my son," said Foster.
"(Sesena-Murrieta) may have pulled the trigger," Holt-Foster said, "but she gave him the things he needed to do it."
When it comes to this woman, it’s KY3’s policy in this story and all stories to not name parties unless charges have been filed.
All the Fosters and their family and friends want is justice for Zo but the sheriff says his hands are tied.
"If there was a law where I could do it, I’d do it," Ozark County Sheriff Raymond Pace said, "I’d have no problem putting them away."
The sheriff says this is a federal ordeal. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Springfield office says it is aware of the case.
"(At this time) we’re not going to do anything to muddy the water, or jeopardize the state’s criminal case," said ICE’s Mike Spinella.
Spinella went on to say the statute of limitations for a case like this is usually five-years.
"It just seems like your country’s letting you down," Foster said. "She’s doing whatever she wants, having fun; my son can’t do that."
"People think in time it fades away. It doesn’t," said the victim’s sister, Christina Foster.
A trial date has yet to be set for Sesena-Murrieta. Witnesses say Sesena-Murrieta claimed Foster was trespassing with family and friends while picnicking along Lick Creek.
The ICE office and Foster family directed KY3 to Sec. 8 u.s.c. 1324 in regards to any person harboring a known, illegal immigrant.
The Fosters also want agents to look at Sec. 18 u.s.c. 922 paragraph d-5 when it comes to Sesena-Murrieta having and using a firearm.

Are Neon blue gouramis vulnerable to many diseases? Why? What is the "dwarf gourami" disease? How do you cure it? How do you prevent them from getting diseases?
In our 29 gallon we have:
3 ghost shrimp
2 mickey mouse platys
6 neon tetras
5 glofish
2 dwarf gouramis(one powder neon blue, other red something something)
Will they do fine?
Should i return them? Are they aggresive?

the symptoms of dwarf gourami disease are shyness, loss of appetite, lethargy, loss of weight, red sores on the skin, dead patches of skin, and then death.
its very common and is estimated that 1 in 4 gouramis have the disease and since its caused by a virus, there really is no cure… it will spread to the other gourami when the first one dies. it is so common because gouramis are bred in farms and when one infected fish dies, it will spread the disease to the entire rest of the stock…. somewhat like an STD, if you will..
but honestly, i wouldnt worry about it too much…. your gourami will probably live a long and happy life… just let it live and be happy… or just have one gourami so it cant spread to the other one… im not sure how long it takes to kill a gourami… but i would assume it takes a while… do whatever you feel is best and good luck.
i dont mean to scare you, i just hope to educate you so you at least know, ive had a few gouramis and they all lived for years… so you should be fine

Its not healthy to have that many different fish together. You may have ot go the a pet store and ask if all of them can be in the same tank. Since there are different kinds, they may not get along and pass disease to each other. the disease may be good for some of them but bad for the others that’s y its showing in only one type.

The shrimp might get eaten by the gold fish if the fish is hungry enough. Then we go a little fight going on. But those fishes should do fine, by I dont know it if is a good idea. Because each fish likes different foods.

They should be fine with the other fish. They are generally not aggressive.. I have two dwarf gouramis, some neon tetra, glowlite tetra, and lots of shrimp. They pick at the shrimp sometimes, but generally leave them alone and aren’t nippy with the other fish.

That’s waaay too many fish. Gourami’s (Even the docile dwarfs) get aggressive when in too-close quarters with other fish. I’d return them if I were you, they’ll just start killing your other fish.
